On our first full day in Rome we decided to visit Vatican City, the smallest country in the world, for most of the day. We woke up early and stopped by a cafe on our way to the metro. Unlike in the U.S. where you can get eggs and toast , most Europeans choose coffee and a pastry. We decided to grab some croissants filled with chocolate/jam and I added on a cappuccino.

To celebrate the end of busy season, Shelley and I booked a two week trip to Europe. Our flight there was anything but convenient. We flew the red eye from San Francisco to Newark and had an eight hour layover. Luckily, my aunt and uncle live nearby so they offered to host us for a few hours.

In 2002, my sister Erin passed away after contracting sepsis following a surgery. Since then, my other sister Jen has organized a fishing tournament in her memory to raise awareness about sepsis. This year marked the 13th annual B.U.G.S Classic fishing tournament.

Earlier this year, my roommate and I decided to sign up to run Bay to Breakers. For those of you not from the bay area, Bay to Breakers is a 12K run starting near Embarcadero (Bay) and ending at the Great Highway near the ocean (Breakers). For those of you from the bay area, you know that this race is really just an excuse to dress up in ridiculous costumes, get drunk, and party all day.

A few months ago, Yao and I signed up for Rich Oliver‘s Mystery School with some fellow Googlers. Supposedly, this course helps you with your street riding and road racing skills by teaching you reflexes to get out of dangerous situations.
